Danny Nettey was a musician and songwriter from Ghana who lived from September 19, 1968, until July 15, 2016. The best way to characterize him was as one of Ghana’s forerunners of contemporary gospel music.
Danny was born in Accra, where he fell in love with music early on. Danny Nettey was well-known for penning songs for the majority of the nation’s gospel performers as well as tunes that were played at his local church.
He was the music director and president of the local Scripture Union Fellowship while he was a high school student at Accra Academy.
Danny Nettey’s Music Career
“Danny Nettey and Pals” was the band that Danny Nettey founded when he first started his musical career. Through speech and song ministry, this organization aimed to spread the gospel in secondary schools and churches throughout West Africa. The three albums that Danny Nettey is known for are “Positive Change,” “This Time,” and “I believe.”
He traveled to the United States and the United Kingdom as part of his music ministry, serving on a variety of venues and sharing the stage with artists such as Don Moen, Kirk Franklin, Lionel Peterson, Israel Houghton, Ron Kenoly, Ron Winans, Bebe Winans, Bishop T. D. Jakes, and Alvin Slaughter.
