The sensational Gospel icon was born on 5th September 1991 and she is known for her great talent in singing and songwriter. She was signed to EeZee Conceptz in 2017. Mercy Chinwo’s Early life and education
On September 5, 1991, Mercy Nnenda Chinwo was born in Rivers State, which is located in southern Nigeria. Mercy Chinwo became well-known as a result of contesting in the Nigerian music competition “Nigerian Idol.”
Her career in the music industry was greatly enhanced when she participated in the second season of the show in 2012 and won.
She was able to start her music career, especially in the gospel genre, thanks to her success on Nigerian Idol. She became a well-known personality in the Nigerian gospel music field after being signed to EeZee Conceptz in 2017, where she released a number of popular gospel songs and albums.
She completed her secondary schooling at Paradise International School after receiving her first school leaving certificate at Goodwill International School.
She graduated with a degree in Human Resources Management from the International Business Management Institute (IBMI). At the age of six, she began singing in the children’s chorus at her church.
Mercy Chinwo’s Career
‘Excess Love’ was Chinwo’s 2018 single. “Testimony” and “Igwe” were Chinwo’s first singles, which she released in 2015. She joined with EeZee Conceptz, a gospel record label run by EeZee Tee, two years later.
Chinwo is a preacher of gospel music. She has collaborated with artists such as JJ Hairson, Nathaniel Bassey, Chioma Jesus, Banky W, Joe Praize, Samsong, Moses Bliss, Oluwadunsin Oyekan, Judikay, Preye Odede, and many more since making her debut in the gospel music industry.
In 2023, she alongside her husband began the MercyisBlessed Foundation, an NGO focused on donations to the less privileged as well as youth development.
Awards and Achievements
In 2018, Chinwo was awarded the Best Gospel Artiste at the Climax Awards 2018.
In 2019, at the maiden edition of the Africa Gospel Awards Festival (AGAFEST 2019), Chinwo was named winner in the categories Africa Gospel New Artiste of the Year, Africa Gospel Female Artiste of the Year, and Africa Gospel Song of the Year (Excess Love).
In 2020, Chinwo emerges as the Gospel Artiste of the year at the AFRIMMA Awards.
